Tam Coc - Bich Dong is considered as the most attractive and famous in Ninh Binh. This landscape is also known with the name "Ha Long Bay on land". Tam Coc means three caves, including The First Cave, The Second Cave and The Third Cave. All of these three caves are formed by the pierce through the mountain of Ngo Dong River.
Tam Coc - Bich Dong is from Hanoi city center about 115 km. Coming here, visitors will feel the charming beauty. The journey of discovery of Tam Coc begins at Dinh The Boat Station. You will be taken along Ngo Dong River. On the two sides, there are yellow rice fields. Looking further, we will catch extraordinary stone mountains. Under the fresh blue water, countless aquatic species are fancily swimming, and storks are happily playing on the greenery grass ... All of them create an outpouring inspiration for photo hunters.
Then, we will encounter three caves: The First Cave with a length of 127 metres, the entrance is 20 meters wide. Inside the cave, the atmosphere is quite cool and many stalactites with a lot of shapes and sizes hang down. Next, we stop at The Second Cave which is from The First Cave about 1 km. This cave is 60 metres long, the cave ceiling with multiple stalactites hanging down looking very strange ... Ultimately, let’s discover The Third Cave, with a length of 50 meters, the cave ceiling brings the shape of an arch, it is somewhat shorter than previous two caves but look stunning.
Furthermore, after finishing the visit to Tam Coc, you can visit Bich Dong Pagoda, an ancient temple associated with the rock mountain, bringing the oriental style. It is from Tam Coc Boating Station about 2 km.
It can be said that the landscape is the harmonious combination between the wonderful scenery of the caves, the rugged mountains, the romantic rivers and streams and the talent of human. All of them form an inseparable unity.
