FULL ITINERARY
Day 1: Vientiane Arrival – Welcome Dinner (D)
Welcome to Vientiane, the capital city of Laos! On arrival at the airport, we will be welcomed by our local guide and driver then transfer to our city hotel for check-in and relaxation. Check-in to your hotel rooms and enjoy the rest of the day free at your own leisure. Tonight we enjoy our welcome dinner at a fine local restaurant in town.

Day 2: Vientiane – City Tour – Buddha Park (B, L)
After breakfast then checking out, we will start to visit all the major sights of the capital city. Our first stop will be Wat Sisaket, the oldest temple in the city with thousands of miniature Buddha. Built-in the year of 1818, Wat Sisaket has now become the most important heritage temple in Laos. It contains thousands of Buddha statues dating back countries ago as well as ancient sculptures, and paintings. Then, the former royal temple of Wat Phra Keo, which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image.
En route to Lao’s national precious heritage, the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa, you will have the opportunity to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is well known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. Climb up and get the panoramic views of the city. In the afternoon, we take a short drive out of the city to visit the Buddha Park where hundreds of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures brought from India are displayed.

Day 3: Vientiane – Vang Vieng by Train – Tham Jang Cave – Blue Lagoon (B, L)
After breakfast, visit Talat Sao Market before transfer to Vang Vieng, a small town, which is nestled on a bend of the Nam Song River. Its stunning scenery with a mixture of quiet river waters and limestone outcrops remains unspoiled, despite recent developments with the advent of tourism. Enroute, visit Tha Hue Fish market on the way. Upon arrival, we cross the bridge to visit Tham Jang Cave (Dried Caves) and Blue Lagoon. Free at your leisure to attend zipline, kayaking… on your own budget.

Day 4: Vang Vieng – Train to Luang Prabang – City Tour – Sunset Dinner Cruise (B, D)
This morning, after your breakfast at hotel, we will take the speed train to Luang Prababang. Upon arrival in Luang Prabang, we will leave our luggage at hotel and venture out to explore the beautiful city. Our first stop will be the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represents classical Laotian architecture. We will continue the tour to the city’s oldest temple, Wat Visoun then the National Museum at the former Royal Palace, displaying a lovely collection of artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture dating from the days of the early kings right through the last sovereign.
Late afternoon, we go to boat pier to embark on a private traditional cruise for sunset dinner. The 2.5 hours slow boat trip gives us the opportunity to see the view of the city from Mekong River. We continue sailing to Pha Tad Ke Botanical Garden area with the most beautiful sunset area. Enjoy our time and a dinner on cruise before returning to our pier. Transfer to the hotel for overnight.

Day 5: Luang Prabang – Flower Offering Class – Pak Ou Caves (B, L)
After breakfast, we transfer to Heritage House and attend a hands-on experience in traditional religious floral decoration uses banana leaves and local flower from the lush jungles that surround in this art form, and will help you create a religious offering, or Van-Cornet. After that, we will bring our floral set to visit local temple, attend blessing ceremony by the Monk, that is believed to bring you the health, happiness and longevity.
In the afternoon, we embark on a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives us a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside, before reaching the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims. Along the way, we stop at the village of Ban Xanghai, where they make the local rice wine. On return, we disembark the boat to visit traditional villages, and continue taking a short drive to Ban Phanom, a village famous for its hand weaving. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 6: Luang Prabang – Khoang Si Waterfall (B, L)
You have the option to wake up before dawn to witness and participate in offering alms to hundreds of saffron robed monks – an awe-inspiring sight. Please tell your guide a day in advance if you wish to make an offering so he/she can prepare some food for you to hand over to the monks. This early morning ritual dates back generations in Laos. Watch the town come to life in the morning then return to the hotel for breakfast or join the locals for a bowl of delicious noodle soup after the almsgiving ritual. (If you do not wish to make an offering, please keep an appropriate distance and observe the ritual in silence. Dress appropriately – shoulders, chest and legs should be covered). We then visit the Morning Market, where you will see such diverse offerings as dried buffalo skin, local tea and saltpeter among the chickens, vegetables and hill-tribe weavings.
In the morning, we visit the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represents classical Laotian architecture. We then visit the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Center (close on Mondays) where you are able to observe valuable artifacts and traditional clothing and implements from each of the 20 ethnic minority groups which inhabit the Luang Prabang area. Next, we will visit Wat Visoun, the holiest temple of the city, which was entirely rebuilt in 2087 after being destroyed by the invading Black Flags from Southern China. In the courtyard of Wat Visoun stands the Watermelon Stupa shaped like the fruit from which it takes its name. Continue past Wat Aham, which was first built in the 1500s. Then, transfer by private vehicle to Khouang Si waterfall. On the way, you can visit to the Lao ethnic minority groups – Ban Na Oune Village. Once at the waterfalls, take a leisurely hike through the national park towards the Khouang Si waterfalls and pass by the Asian bear rescue center. You will enjoy feeling the mist of the cool, turquoise waters of the different waterfalls. Swimming in the refreshing waters is possible.

Day 7: Luang Prabang – Fly to Hanoi – Walking Tour with Street Foods (B, D)
Breakfast at hotel. Rooms available until 12h00. Free at leisure until transfer back to Luang Prabang airport for your next flight to Hanoi. On your arrival, our guide and car will wait you in the arrival lobby before we transfer to hotel for check-in. After a short rest, we will start walking around the Old Quarter along different streets, try to taste many kinds of local food such as beef/chicken noodle soup, oil-fried pastry, tofu, rice pancake, pillow cake, sweet soup, stuff pancake with pork, draught beer… and one of our best surprised is a stop at Dong Xuan whole sales market where we know many kinds of ingredients being sold.
Last but not least is our happy ending at a hidden coffee in the Old Quarters enjoy its famous ‘egg coffee’ in a pleasant surrounding overlooking Hoan Kiem Lake. It would be a great chance to immerse in the local life of the local at weekend here. After the tour, we return back to hotel in old quarter Hanoi.

Day 8: Hanoi City Tour with Cyclo & Water Puppet (B, L)
After breakfast, move to the Ho Chi Minh complex where we will spend time at Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum, his former stilt-house, the Presidential Palace, the Ho Chi Minh Museum and One Pillar Pagoda. Later, discover the Temple of Literature, which originally built as a temple to Confucius and the first Vietnam National University.
In the afternoon, visit the Museum of Ethnology acknowledged as the best display of cultures and traditions from Vietnam’s 54 Ethnic minority peoples then the infamous Hoa Lo Prison Museum which is also known as the ‘’Hanoi Hilton’’ in the French colonial period. After that, reach the hidden Tran Phu train street to enjoy a cup of coffee here and feel the steady lifestyle of local people here who differ with the bustle streets outside.
In the late afternoon, participate in a 1-hour cyclo tour at Hanoi Old Quarter where you will be free for shopping ranging from designer boutique stores to amazing contemporary art galleries. In the evening, watch a traditional performance of the city’s famous Water Puppet Show. Overnight in Hanoi

Day 9: Hanoi – Bai Dinh & Trang An – Hang Mua – Ninh Binh (B, L)
Pick you up at the hotel after breakfast, we will be driven to Ninh Binh to visit Bai Dinh Spiritual and Culture Complex which is the largest Buddhist pagoda complex in the North of Vietnam. The compound consists of the original old pagoda and a newly created larger pagoda, which is considered the biggest pagoda in Vietnam at this stage.
After visiting the pagoda, we will transfer to a local restaurant for lunch. In the afternoon, we will take a pleasant boat rowing in Hoang Long River to visit Trang An Eco-Tourism complex. The complex is surrounded by the picturesque landscape with thousands of hectares with more than 100 caves which can be explored by boat. Trang An Eco-Tourism complex is famous for its ecosystem diversity with 600 kinds of flora and over 200 kinds of fauna that many of them in the Red book of Vietnam. Day 10: Ninh Binh – Cuc Phuong National Park Full-day Tour – Hanoi (B, L)
After breakfast, our car will bring us to Cuc Phuong National Park – the oldest national parks in Vietnam established since 1962. The park boasts an engaging cultural, wildlife heritage, and enchanting scenery. Covered in a dense forest, this landscape forms the habitat for some of Asia’s rarest animal and plant species. The ancient forest harbors over 2234 vascular and non-vascular plants, 122 species of reptiles and amphibians, and 135 mammals. There are also an incredible 308 documented bird species. Visitors in April and May should be blessed with the chance to see literally thousands of vibrant butterflies.
Upon arrival, we will visit the Cave of Prehistoric Man, and reentering the Stone Age through our exploration (approx. 0.3km walk). The rocky outcrops of Cuc Phuong formed the site of valuable pale ontological and anthropological vestiges, including the remains of prehistoric people who lived in the forest some 7500 years ago are also to be found in numerous mountain caves. Then, we will drive another 2km from the cave to the starting point of our 9-km hike (loop trail with some small rocky slopes) to visit the Big Ancient Tree before sitting down to enjoy a picnic lunch in the forest. Finally, we visit some Dinosaur Fossil of up to 200 – 230 million years old before walking/cycling back to the main road (total approx. 4km walk). Then, after spending time in here, we will return back to Hanoi.

Day 11: Hanoi – Halong Bay – Overnight on Cruise (B, L, D)
After breakfast, we pick you up at the hotel in Hanoi by shuttle bus to start our journey. When we arrive at Tuan Chau Marina, you will get checked in at Paradise Suites Hotel and transferred to the Paradise Cruise via Electric Cart. Once arrived, you will be given a short briefing about your cruise itinerary and safety regulations while you enjoy some complimentary welcoming drinks. Shortly after, enjoy your lunch at the Restaurant while viewing the beautiful islets of Halong Bay.
In the afternoon, you will visit the Tung Sau Pearl farm where you will have the chance to learn about the process of pearl cultivation or you go kayaking instead. Afterward, your next stop will be at Titop Island, an island named after the Russian Cosmonaut “Gherman Stepanovich Titov”. You can choose to either hike the island’s mountain to get a majestic view of Halong Bay or swim at the beach. After that, we return to the cruise and enjoy the Bay sunset while enjoying the “Happy Hour” special. You may also join our chef in the kitchen to learn how to make a Vietnamese Dish. After a Western Set Dinner, enjoy some night activities on the boat like: squid fishing, drinks, or movies. The rest of night will be relaxing on the cruise.

Day 12: Halong Bay – Hanoi – Fly to Hue (B, Br)
Start your day with a Tai Chi Session at the Sundeck. Then, we enjoy a light meal with some fresh pastries, coffee, and tea at the restaurant. Next destination will be the Sung Sot Cave, the largest and most magnificent cave in the bay where you can see the stalactites in different forms. Afterward come to enjoy breakfast while the cruise passes by Thien Cung, Dau Go Cave, and the Fighting Cock Islet. After breakfast, you will check out and are free to enjoy the rest of your trip at the Lounge or on the sundeck looking at the astonishing view of Halong Bay. At 10:15 AM, Paradise Cruise returns to Tuan Chau Marina. Finally, we disembark and farewell the crew then get back to Hanoi by our shuttle bus/D-car in 2.5 to 3 hours driving.
Return back to Hanoi, our driver will pick you up and we transfer to Noi Bai Airport for the flight to Hue. On your arrival, our car will pick you up at the ariport and transfer to hotel in Hue for accommodation.

Day 13: Hue – City GROUP TOUR (B, L)
Pick up at hotel at 8:30 AM, we will board the Dragon Boat on the romantic Perfume River heading out for the countryside. Being the ancient capital, Hue is surrounded with ancient tombs of emperors past, and a visit to the most beautiful tombs will be on the itinerary for today. The charming Lady Pagoda (Thien Mu Pagoda) will be the first stop of the day. We will enjoy a great view on the Perfume River and surrounding area. Thien Mu Pagoda is considered the symbol of Hue, and of Buddhism in Vietnam. From here, we rejoin our van and go visit King Khai Dinh’s Tomb or King Tu Duc’s Tomb.
In the afternoon, we visit the Imperial Citadel where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945, after exploring the ruins of this wonderful monument. We will then depart to the Hue Royal Fine Art Museum, which is housed within the former Dien Long An Royal Palace. We will finish our day with the local Dong Ba Market to see the daily life of local people.

Day 14: Hue – Hoi An – ½ Day Walking Tour with My Son Sanctuary (B, L)
Hoi An Ancient town has been recognized as the World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO since 1999 thanks to its value. This place is complex of the acculturation. The architecture of the town reflects the influence of Chinese, Japanese, Potuguese, French and British traders. It used to be a trading port in 17th & 18th centuries where the trading cruise ships from Japan, China & the west met and exchanged goods. Hoi An nowaday is one the most attractive places in Vietnam and with a half day walking around, visitors will immediately feel the hospitality and friendship the locals extend to them. And they can see that what is so special about Hoi An is that this little port town is in an incredible state of preservation…Welcome to Hoi An!
Met up by local tour guide in the morning then we will start our walking tour around the ancient town to visit the Japanese Covered Bridge, the Pottery Museum, Tan Ky’s old house, the Cantonese congregation, the silk street of Hoi An, and the temples, and pagodas of Chinese appearance. Then we be free to having lunch and return back to hotel for check-out.
13:30 – 14:00: Our tour guide pick you up at your hotel and depart to My Son Sanctuary – The World Cultural Heritage.
15:00: Arrive at My Son and we’ll have 2 hours to discover the site by walking throughout the landscape, learning histories with our local English-speaking guide, and enjoying the Champa’s traditional performances.
15:15: Get back to mini van for transfer to the Cau Lau’s wharf for taking a boat trip to Hoi An with nice and cool breeze on boarding, beautiful sunset river scenery on the biggest river in the Central of Vietnam named as Thu Bon River. Get your camera ready for the amazing moment of local people activities along the river.

Day 16: Hoi An – Fly to Ho Chi Minh City (B)
This morning we transfer to Danang airport for a short flight to Ho Chi Minh City. On arrival at Tan Son Nhat airport in Ho Chi Minh City, welcome up on arrival by local tour guide and driver then we transfer to hotel. After check-in, we visit all the highlights in Ho Chi Minh City such as the Reunification Palace, a palace of old President in South of Vietnam during the American war; Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office, the two sites that we can’t ignore when we visit the city. We then head to the center to do shopping at famous Ben Thanh market, this bustling and well-organized market is very popular with tourists, primarily due to its central location. It has a wide selection of goods ranging from fake Nike shoes to beautiful silk Ao Dai. Our free evening activities should be: walking around at the night market in Ben Thanh market area; explore the highest building in Ho Chi Minh City, Bitexco….

Day 17: Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi Tunnels GROUP TOUR (B, L)
Ho Chi Minh city, formerly named Ho Chi Minh City is a largest city of Vietnam. One day tour around today covers almost the major attractions. Understanding more about history in the War Remnants Museum and the Reunification Palace, admire French-colonial architecture at the General Post Office, Opera House and Notre Dame Cathedral, and explore the longest tunnels made of Vietnamese people during the war…. Depends the weather and season, we can visit Cu Chi tunnel in the morning or afternoon.
Morning, we head to the Cu Chi tunnels, otherwise known as the “Iron Triangle” or “Iron Land”. Before entering the tunnels, we will see a short introductory video showing how they were constructed, followed by an exploration of the maze of tunnels, some of which have been widened to allow tourist access. Also on display are various mantraps and the remains of an American tank as well as numerous bomb craters made by 500lb bombs dropped by B52 bombers. After that we transfer back to Ho Chi Minh city for lunch.
After lunch, we visit the Reunification Palace, the former Presidential Palace for the president of the South of Vietnam. After that, we will visit War Remnant Museum, where we can see countless artifacts, photographs and pictures documenting about the second Indochina war. We also stop at Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post office to get good shots for our memory of the big, modern city of Vietnam. In the rest of the day, we will visit: Ben Thanh market, and then we will be back to hotel

Day 18: Ho Chi Minh City – Vinh Long GROUP TOUR – Can Tho (B, L)
We pick you up at the hotel after breakfast and transfer you to Cai Be. The program will start with a visit to Tan Phong Island for biking/walking on village paths to see the local daily life: orchard, school, church, pagoda, traditional houses… On the way, we can have some stops to see how they wave the dried water hyacinth to make many products: baskets, bags, hats, wallets, and shoes…
Then, the rowing boat will take you deeper into the countryside on smaller canals to enjoy a peaceful time. Next, we back to our boat to go across one of the longest rivers in the world, the Mekong River, to come to An Bình Island. While we travel on a handmade canal to homestay, we can walk around this orchard & enjoy some cups of tea while listening to the traditional music in the ancient house.
After that, we walk into the local village to visit the local workshop to see how to make rice paper, coconut candy, pop-rice and enjoy some sweets with a cup of hot tea. It’ll give you an unforgettable experience. One more thing to do on this trip is visiting the brick kilns where you can see how the local people create beautiful potteries from clay. The cruise transfers us back to Vinh Long city where we take our own vehicle to Can Tho and spend our night here.

Day 19: Can Tho GROUP TOUR – Ho Chi Minh City (B, L)
Early morning today, we will take the boat trip to visit the famous Cai Rang Floating Market with the busy sense right at the time. This is a biggest floating market in Mekong Delta where we can see the daily life and local people selling their products on boats. If time permits, we can visit Binh Thuy Ancient House here.
After that, you will be back to the hotel and have free time until check out. At noon, we will head back to Ho Chi Minh City and have lunch en-route. Arrive at our hotel in the afternoon and have free time at leisure. We will spend the night in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 20: Ho Chi Minh City – Fly to Siem Reap – ½ Day Angkor Temple Tour (B)
We take a midday flight to Siem Reap.
In the afternoon, we discover the Angkor Archeological Park with the South Gate of Angkor Thom. This is a complex of the moat, stone figures, statues of guardian god, and snakes….It’s a legend about a famous Hindu, and the tour guide will lead us back to history with many interesting stories. It’s the best moment to see the sunset from Prasat Chrung which is recognized to be the best corner to view the setting sun. After that, we enjoy a short royal boat along the ancient moat and then back to the hotel.

This morning, we will start to visit the antique capital of Angkor Thom (12 century): the South Gate with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk, the Bayon Temple, unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara, the Phimeanakas, the Royal Enclosure, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King.
In the afternoon, we visit to the most famous of all the temples on the plain of Angkor: Angkor Wat. The temple complex covers 81 hectares and is comparable in size to the Imperial Palace in Beijing. Its distinctive five towers are emblazoned on the Cambodian flag and the 12th century masterpiece is considered by art historians to be the prime example of classical Khmer art and architecture. Enjoy wonderful sunset from the top of Pre Rup Temple.

Day 22: Siem Reap – Phnom Kulen (B)
We will drive up Kulen Mountains for the visit to a Grand Buddha Statue, the River of Thousand Lingas and the Great Waterfall. On the way back, we will visit to Banteay Srey, known as Citadel of Women or a Pink Temple, and Banteay Samre Temples.

Day 23: Siem Reap – Fly to Sihanoukville – Koh Rong Island (B)
This morning, you will be picked up and transferred to the Airport in good time to catch your flight to Sihanoukville. Upon arrival at Sihanoukville airport, be warmly greeted then we will proceed to Sihanoukville ferry where we catch a speet boat ride to Koh Rong Samloeum Island. Upon arrival at Koh Rong Ferry, we will go to our hotel for check in and relaxation. Spend the rest of the day at your own leisure along the beach.

Day 24 – 25: Koh Rong Island – Free Time (B)
Today will be free for you to spend time at your leisure, venture out to explore the island on your own, relaxing or do anything as you wish.

Day 26: Koh Rong Island – Sihanoukville – Phnom Penh (B)
Enjoy breakfast at hotel then today, we will travel back to Sihanoukville by the afternoon speed boat. You will be picked up at Sihanoukville ferry and we transfer to Phnom Penh city centre. Arrives in Phnom Penh and check-in to your hotel stay for overnight accommodation.

Day 27: Phnom Penh – Departure (B)
Today, time will be free for you to spend at your own leisure before being picked up and escorted to the Airport in good time for your departure flight back home. Have a safe flight! See you again in the next Indochina Tours!
